BlackApolis City Pages
Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta, Georgia was founded in 1837 at the junction of two major railroad lines. Originally called Terminus, the town was renamed Atlanta, in 1845, which some experts contend is the female version of the mythical city of 'Atlantis'. Commonly referred to as "the cradle of the U.S. Civil Rights movement" Atlanta was a key staging point for many historical events, and the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr.
